The mission of Tenisha Bibbs and Tenisha Bibbs Enterprises is one that stems from her very own personal life experiences of domestic violence and postpartum depression. She knew her past and pain would become her life’s purpose, which is what fuels her perseverance. Tenisha was inspired to author multiple books: "Behind the Beauti: Discovering Your True Beauty from the Inside Out" and "Ask A Doula: A Transitional Guide for New Moms".
In an effort to help the perspectives of how young girls view themselves and positively impact their self-acceptance, Tenisha started The Daughters of Zion mentoring program in 2008. She continues to pass along her wisdom and her expertise in beauty education to young girls as a mentor–helping them to see
themselves as beautiful on the inside and out.
Since 2011, Tenisha has been coaching expectant mothers through pregnancy and postpartum depression out of her for new mothers and their struggles. She established Doula Helps, an organization which helps single moms’ transition home after their release from the hospital. Statistics show that 64.3% of
African American women do not breastfeed for at least 6 months. One of her goals is to help change the conversation and stigma surrounding breastfeeding and Postpartum within African American community.
In July of 2018, Tenisha received a Georgia State Proclamation for Beauti Day in her honor for raising awareness about suicide among mothers who experience postpartum depression. In May 2022 she received a Georgia State Proclamation for Postpartum Maternal Mental Health for raising awareness about postpartum depression after birth. Tenisha embarked on a journey to spread message and state proclamation by founding the Behind the Beauti Experience, and The Behind the Beauti Retreat, impacting the lives of over 250 women. Since her journey of discovering her own true BEAUTi, Tenisha has shared her life resources and experiences to help equip other women to discover theirs. Tenisha is also a regular contributor to Treasure Box International, an organization which helps fights human sex trafficking. The organization also
establishes children's healthcare centers both locally and internationally.
